 Public Education
Public Education Funding Reform
NCJW's principle is to ensure that all children receive a quality education by establishing adequate, reliable, sustainable funding. Today in Illinois, schools are struggling financially and property taxes are escalating! Illinois is ranked 49th in its support for public education and has received a D+ in school funding equity. Unfortunately, without adequate resources, schools can't prepare children for the workforce.

That is why NCJW is a member of the A+ Illinois campaign.

Education Vouchers
Education vouchers are local, state, or federal public funding dollars that may be used to pay tuition and/or other expenses on behalf of individual students at schools outside the public school system, including private, sectarian institutions. NCJW opposes education vouchers because they breach the barrier between religion and state, rob public schools of needed resources, and support schools that discriminate in the selection of students. NCJW supports quality public education for all, utilizing public funds for public schools only.
